The Associate is an active member of deal teams and will engage across all functions of the firm gaining exposure to the entire deal process from origination and due-diligence through deal structuring and post-investment portfolio management. Ideal candidates will display strong initiative, have a tremendous work ethic, and a high level of maturity.

Responsibilities

  • Investment Opportunity Evaluation / Deal Execution: Support all phases of the investment process, including leading financial model and valuation work, performing market research and due diligence, preparing investment committee materials, managing external advisors, and synthesizing findings into actionable insights
  • Portfolio Company Operations / Integration: Conduct financial and strategic analysis for various portfolio businesses and target acquisitions and present findings to support CGEP management team decisions and overall strategic direction
  • Investment Thesis Development: Understand current and potential markets; provide in-depth market, industry, and competitive analysis; and uncover growth opportunities and suitable acquisition targets

Qualifications

  • Consistent track record of high achievement, both professionally and academically (Master’s degree preferred)
  • 3+ years of experience in private equity, investment banking, transaction services, corporate development and/or management consulting preferred
  • Experience in identifying and evaluating financial, operational & strategic risks
  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling and analysis
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills with polished Excel and PowerPoint abilities
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Entrepreneurial-minded and results-oriented individual with ability to prioritize work and independently manage priorities

  • Portfolio Company Operations / Integration: Conduct financial and strategic analysis for various portfolio businesses and target acquisitions to support CGEP management team decisions and overall strategic direction
  • Investment Thesis Development: Support thesis ideation and development through in-depth market, industry, and competitive analysis to uncover growth opportunities and suitable acquisition targets

  • Entrepreneurial-minded and results-oriented individual with ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

  • 1-2+ years of experience in private equity, investment banking, transaction services, corporate development and/or management consulting preferred
